The purpose of our Adolescent Outpatient Program is to promote the well-being of at-risk youth through education regarding the consequences of alcohol and other drug use. The goal of this program is to help young people change their lives through motivation and information.
Family participation and engagement are critical components to positive outcomes. Granite Wellness Centers is responsive to its clients and offers valuable family support as part of this Adolescent Program. All participants benefit through ongoing feedback from educators and peers utilizing personalized treatment plans. Journaling is a key tool applied throughout the process to foster accomplishment. Clients and their families leave the program with a roadmap to achieve a successful, responsible, and healthy lifestyle.
The Adolescent Outpatient Program offers no cost services to qualified consenting minors through Medi-Cal.
FEE FOR SERVICE OPTIONS
Granite Wellness Centers has designed this Student Intervention Program for young people who may be experiencing high levels of stress or anxiety focused on substance use. We provide minimal, early intervention in behaviors by offering education and resources to address life-skill concerns in their hectic world.
Family involvement, in a limited capacity, is a valuable component to success. Participants are not pressured to take on more responsibility than they are able. Teens need to:
- Stay clean for 30 days
- Complete an intake assessment with a parent, relative, or guardian
- Attend a group session once a week, for four weeks
- Participate in two, face-to-face sessions with a youth counselor
- Take two drug screens, one at intake and one when completing the program
Financial assistance may be available through schools and probation offices.
You Are Not Alone
Is Your Teen Struggling With Prescription Drugs?
The fastest-growing drug problem in the United States is the use of prescription drugs, and it is profoundly affecting the lives of teenagers. Prescription drugs can cause short and long-term health consequences:
Opioids act on the same parts of the brain as heroin. These can cause drowsiness, nausea, constipation, and, depending on the amount taken, slowed breathing.
Stimulants have side effects in common with cocaine and may include paranoia, dangerously high body temperatures, and an irregular heartbeat, This is especially true if stimulants are taken in large doses or in ways other than swallowing a pill.
Depressants can cause slurred speech, shallow breathing, fatigue, disorientation, lack of coordination, and seizures upon withdrawal from chronic use.
If you believe that your child has a substance use problem, let Granite Wellness Centers help you navigate an educational, healing, and welcoming process to lead you teen to long-term success.
